At GALV, we are a community of Ghanaians united by our shared culture, heritage, and values. We strive to provide a supportive and welcoming environment for all Ghanaians in Las Vegas, regardless of their background or beliefs.
Our mission is to promote the cultural, social, and economic well-being of Ghanaians in Las Vegas, foster a sense of community, and represent the interests of Ghanaians to the broader community. Our vision is to be the foremost voice for Ghanaians in Las Vegas and a model for other Ghanaian associations worldwide.
As a member of GALV, you'll have access to a variety of services, including social events, networking opportunities, immigration and legal assistance, and cultural awareness activities. GALV events provide an opportunity to socialize with other Ghanaians and connect with the Ghanaian community in Las Vegas.

As the Ghana Association of Las Vegas, we are proud to have Edmond Sarpong as our current President. Edmond is a highly accomplished individual with a wealth of experience in the field of Information Security. He is also the founder and lead educator of Prime Tech Associates, a platform dedicated to providing cybersecurity training to individuals in Africa.
Edmond's extensive qualifications include holding various certifications such as the CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA, and PMP. He also holds an MBA from Park University and is a proud alumnus of the University of Ghana. Furthermore, he is an active member of the Air Force Reserves and has worked for notable organizations such as Intel Corporation, Humana, Department of Navy, VA, and Air Force.
Beyond his impressive professional achievements, Edmond is a loving husband to Esther Sarpong and a proud father of two children, Ivy and Liam Sarpong - Prime. We are honored to have him lead our organization and bring his wealth of knowledge and experience to our community.
Meet Esther Sarpong, the esteemed First Lady of the Ghana Association of Las Vegas. With over two decades of experience in global marketing and public relations, Esther is a seasoned veteran in her field. Currently, she spearheads new business ventures for a prominent global real estate company, bringing her expertise to the forefront of the industry.
Esther's affiliation with the Ghana Association spans many years, during which she has been an active and dedicated member, earning numerous accolades for her exemplary hard work. Now, in her esteemed position as the First Lady, Esther's focus lies in driving strategic branding for the association, fostering connections on a global scale, and empowering women across the organization. She assumes the responsibility of overseeing the association's PR and marketing efforts, ensuring a strong brand presence and effective communication of its message to the community.
Apart from her professional achievements, Esther is a devoted mother of two, balancing her personal and professional life with grace. Her presence on Las Vegas TV has made her a recognizable face in the city, frequently invited as a guest to share insights on local happenings. Esther Sarpong is a true force to be reckoned with, leaving a lasting impact both in her career and in the community she serves.
Isaac Kofi Appiah is the Chief of Staff for the Ghana Association of Las Vegas. In this role, Isaac will be responsible for supporting the President in all aspects of their duties, managing staff, acting as a liaison between the President and other members of the organization, strategic planning, and crisis management. Additionally, Isaac will oversee our WhatsApp and social media platforms to ensure all communication is professional and respectful.
Isaac brings a wealth of experience to the position, having served as a director of a Fortune 500 healthcare company, as well as having years of experience managing and directing affairs in both the public and private sectors. He is also a United States Army veteran and has a deep commitment to community service.
Afia Boone is the Vice President of the Ghana Association of Las Vegas. Afia brings a wealth of experience to the position, having previously held roles as a manager, director, senior director, and Vice President of Membership and Meetings at Nareit. In her most recent position as Vice President of Social Responsibility and Industry Affairs at Nareit, Afia has demonstrated her passion for promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, making her the perfect candidate for our association.
In her role as Vice President of the Ghana Association of Las Vegas, Afia will be responsible for leading our efforts to engage Ghanaians born in the United States, including our children and youth, through youth programs and activities. She will also be tasked with fostering closer ties with African American communities and promoting Ghanaian cultural exchange.
Afia's career began in a management training program at the Grand Hyatt Washington, where her strong interest in hospitality began. She is a mother of two and is deeply committed to social responsibility, philanthropy, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. I am confident that Afia will serve our community well in her new position, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact she will have on our association.
Dr. Cyclopea Anakwa is our Chief of Cultural Affairs. Born in Ghana, Dr. Anakwa received his education from various institutions in Ghana before moving to the USA in 2001. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at St. Agnes Hospital, Baltimore and has been working in Nevada since 2005.
In addition to being a philosopher, artist, soccer analyst, cultural enthusiast, philanthropist, and farmer, Dr. Anakwa is deeply committed to preserving and promoting Ghanaian culture. As our Chief of Cultural Affairs, he will be responsible for ensuring that Ghanaian traditions and customs are reflected in our association events, and will work closely with the rest of the leadership to promote cultural exchange and understanding.
Dr. Anakwa is married and family-oriented with two kids in Las Vegas. He believes that the most beautiful thing in the world are the most simple and divine acts of kindness, and that our past misfortunes constitute our bank of fortitude.

As the Ghana Association of Las Vegas, we are proud to have Peter Baffour Buabeng as the Treasurer for our association. Mr. Buabeng, who was born in Ghana but has spent most of his life in Las Vegas, is a UNLV Alumni and a husband of 3 children.
Professionally, he currently serves as a Senior Account manager for one of the Largest Petroleum Distributors in the State, responsible for fuel & oil supplies to Car Dealerships, Gas Stations, Construction companies, Clark County, and many more. His day-to-day work involves developing strong relationships with businesses, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders, and analyzing client’s financial worthiness. Additionally, he serves as one of the liaisons of his company for BP (Castrol Oil) & Philip 66 (P66) as their distributor for this market.
Mr. Buabeng's contributions to our community have been significant, and his dynamic past leadership as financial secretary in the Church of Pentecost has been a source of inspiration for many. His unparalleled commitment to serving the underprivileged, including the homeless, elderly, and needy, is a testament to his boundless compassion and empathetic nature.
As a remarkable leader, Mr. Buabeng has an innate ability to inspire and motivate others through his infectious enthusiasm and unwavering kindness. We are confident that he will excel in his new role as the Treasurer for our association.
Peter Andrews Eshun is a distinguished member of our association, serving as our Organizing Secretary. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our team, making him a valuable asset in our pursuit of excellence.
Apart from being a renowned chef, Peter is also an Elder in the Church of Pentecost PIWC. As a seasoned entrepreneur, he is the proud owner of The Rock catering & Transportation services LLC in Las Vegas, providing top-notch services to his clients.
As a family man, Peter is blessed with a loving wife of 13 years, Ranetta, and four wonderful children and is affectionately known as "Papa Ekow Akromah AkA Abanze Ba" by those who know him well. With his extensive experience in the culinary industry and his unwavering commitment to service, Peter is a key player in our efforts to build a stronger and more vibrant community.
Yaw A Fosu, also known as Abrantie Yaw, is the head of entertainment for the Ghana Association of Las Vegas. He is a native of Kumasi, Ghana, and has been living in Las Vegas for over 20 years. Abrantie is a well-known promoter and artist host, and has hosted some of the biggest names in African music, including Bisa Kdei, King Promise, Timaya, Davido, and Wutah Kobby. He is also a Crew Chief for American Airlines.
Abrantie is passionate about promoting Ghanaian culture and music in Las Vegas. He is a tireless worker and is always looking for new ways to bring African artists to the city. He is also a great connector and has helped to build a strong network of Ghanaians in Las Vegas.
In his spare time, Abrantie enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He is also an avid soccer fan and supports the Ghanaian national team.
